Armis Christian Academy teaches students from a biblical perspective. The school’s approach to education follows the classical model that works with how students naturally learn.
In classical education, there are three stages that comprise what’s known as the Trivium: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric.
The Grammar Stage (1st-4th Grade)
Students are hungry for facts and memorize readily. They are eager to learn new information about the world.
The Logic Stage (5th-8th Grade)
Students take what they have learned and begin to ask why. They begin to develop a desire to understand how what they know fits together.
The Rhetoric Stage (9th-12th Grade)
Students are ready to learn how to communicate and persuade others in writing and through speaking gracefully and elegantly.
Intrinsic in classical education is the teaching of virtues. For example, success in school and in life requires diligence. Students should be encouraged to persevere through challenges. Doing so helps them develop virtuous characters. A strong and virtuous character will help students become adults who can contribute positively to their marriages, families, and society at large.
At Armis, we desire to honor and serve the Lord in teach and sending prepared students into the world who are ready to defend their faith regardless of what they choose to do with their lives after graduation.
Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” As Armis staff and faculty teach students from a biblical perspective, our desire is to teach them to love learning, to love the Lord, and to love influencing the world for Him.
Before the beginning of each year, Armis will send a book list to registered students. Parents should purchase books and other supplies before school begins so that students are ready to learn once classes begin.
